A visa-free regime has been in effect between Ukraine and all the EU countries since 2005, according to which EU citizens (as well as British citizens) have the right to stay in the territory of Ukraine for 90/180 days without a visa.
But as from February 1, 2020, United Kingdom is scheduled to leave the EU, so-called Brexit, meaning that visa-free travel for British citizens will cease to operate.
But British travelers should not worry!
Yesterday, on January the 29th, the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed and promulgated the Order №28/2020 decree that will introduce a temporary visa-free regime for British citizens for a period of 1 year (starting from January 31th of 2020 till January 30th of 2021).
Ukraine also plans to negotiate with United Kingdom on further simplification of visa rules or the introduction of a visa-free regime on a regular basis.
